Castagneto Carducci is one of the historic villages of the Etruscan Coast although its town center is not directly overlooking the sea.
The village develops around the Church of San Lorenzo, just a few kilometers away from the coast.
In the area there are numerous farms that produce excellent quality oil and wine such as Sassicaia, Grattamacco, Ornellaia.
